In honor of sweet Beau whose good spirit graced all who knew him...what a good boy kitty he was and how happy he made his owners. He had such a good life, even at the end when it was really tough, but you could tell he knew how very much he was loved and gave it back, always. He will be missed. Lynda |

On January 1, 2010 MARGARET SCHNEIDER made a Memorial Dedication for Gideon
In memory of our boy Gideon who brought us joy since 10/2001 when we adopted him. At the end his heart just started to give out. I guess it's because he used his heart sooooo much through the years since he was a LOVER not a fighter! Thank you to CARE for giving us Gideon and for helping us out with his expenses at the end. We still have 2 dogs (Morgan & Pearl) that we adopted from CARE in 1/2002 and there presence sure helps ... but Gideon was such a lovable boy who made friends with everyone that his passing has impacted many of our friends and family too. |

On January 1, 2010 Victoria Bautch made a Memorial Dedication for Sam
Sam was a Chatham County stray dog who followed us home one day over 15 years ago, when he was an adolescent. He was the first dog who chose us, and he made me realize that it's better than OK to take in stray homeless dogs...he was the first of a wonderful group of "found" dogs. Sam was the perfect foil for his high-energy sisters Lucy and then Maggie - he was steady, always there, never (ok, hardly ever!) a problem, and full of love and devotion without a lot of sticky sentiment. He lived 16 great years. I miss his smiling face at the door, his courage as his health declined, and his way of imparting wisdom without making a sound. And his totally off-key but lusty howl! |

On August 28, 2008 Sue Edwards made a Memorial Dedication for Snorkle
Snorkle came to us when a concerned neighbor called CARE after learning of the death of Snorkel's owner. It was over a week before friends realized the many cats that lived with Snork had not been fed or watered. Through the efforts of CARE and neighbor Crystal, all cats were placed. Snorkle, virtually toothless, was pregnant again at around age 13. Too close to delivery, Snorkle gave birth to two kittens, neither of which survived. During her subsequent spay, Dr. Monce discovered several malignant tumors. Unable to reach me, he finished the spay, removed the tumors and hoped for the best. We took Snorkle home thinking she had about three months to live. She took to indoor living, lots of canned food, unlimited affection. She surprised us all by outliving her three month prognosis by two full happy, healthy years before the cancer took her life. We miss you Snorkle and hope you are happy in Kitty Heaven. You were our joy. |
