Chatham Animal Rescue & Education (CARE) is run by many dedicated volunteers who give their time freely in order to find new, loving homes for cats and dogs in Chatham County, North Carolina. There are many animals in need in Chatham County. Some are simply lost, others can no longer be kept by their owners, many have been abandoned, and a few need life-saving medical attention.

No gift is too small or too big. Some choices for donating money include a one-time gift, monthly recurring donation, a memorial or in honor of someone donation, planned giving, or an in-kind donation.

Your donation goes directly to paying for vaccines, spay/neuter, training, microchips, and food—amongst other vitally important items to save dogs and cats in Chatham County.

Your donation helps us:

  • Save homeless and abandoned cats and dogs
  • Provide critical medical care and behavioral rehabilitation
  • Promote responsible pet care
  • Prevent pet overpopulation

You can really help homeless dogs and cats by becoming a CARE sustainer. Your regular monthly gift allows us to spend less time fundraising, giving the organization a more reliable budget to work with to help homeless cats and dogs. Your tax-deductible gift is an easy way to make a difference for animals all year long. Please donate today using the form above.

Gifts to our General Fund

Rescuing animals is a nonstop job, and our needs change daily. Your monetary donation allows us to direct the funds to the areas we need it most, like pet food, vaccines, medications, spay/neuter for our foster pets, emergency and standard veterinary care, and lots more.

Gifts to Lillie’s Fund

CARE’s Lillie’s Fund is a targeted spay and neuter program that assists lower income Chatham County residents to get their cats and dogs fixed for the minimal cost of a $20 co-pay per pet. Periodically, when funding allows, CARE sponsors special no-cost (no co-pay required) spay and neuter campaigns through Lillie’s Fund. Your donation helps to decrease pet overpopulation, directly impacting the number of unwanted dogs and cats that end up in our shelter every day.

Honor and Memorial Gifts

A tribute is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give. Give a gift in memory or honor of a loved one or a pet. Donations like this make thoughtful gifts for occasions like:

  • The loss of a beloved pet
  • Birthday or wedding of a friend or a family member
  • The loss of a friend or a loved one who was an animal lover

Donations can be made to recognize many different occasions or events. CARE will send a letter to the recipient to let them know you made this donation.

Sustaining Monthly Giving

You can help animals when they need it most. By becoming a monthly donor, your support ensures animals receive medical care, behavioral support, and a safety net of love and kindness. An automatic and recurring gift can be easily set-up online. You can give via automatic gifts through your credit or debit card, or by drafting from your bank account. You can change your donation amount, skip a month or make other changes at any time.
Why monthly? Donors like that they’re able to provide steady, ongoing support. Monthly donations can be as small as the cost of a few cups of coffee ($5 minimum), and your support will make a big difference. Rather than waiting until the end of the year to make your tax deductible donation, start your monthly sustainer donations now, and know that you’re helping our foster animals every day.
