Sex: Male
Born: January 2005 (14 yrs 0 mos)
Color: Grey/white

Very much like the boat for which I'm named, I am rugged yet elegant and the perfect example of where feline form meets feline function to perfection. I'm Grady and at a mere almost 14 yrs of age, I am still a very playful, gentle kitty that likes being around people and other kitties, especially the girls. I sniff a lot but the vet tells me I am not contagious. I used to live outside in a very safe environment but am now living inside and it's pretty cool. As a matter of fact, I enjoy living inside. I get to see people all the time and I like that a lot. Interacting with people is even better than birding! People give me lots of rubs, it's really awesome being loved.

I am neutered, up to date on my vaccines and negative for FeLv/FIV.

Grady is one of Sue Edwards' cats and needs a new home. Special adoption fee for Grady!

My name is Sweet Pea and I am a gorgeous (if I do say so myself) tortoisehell girl. Just look at me - nature gave me a striking, split screen face that is beautiful and unique.

What makes me special (besides my soft fluffy fur and beautiful colors) is that despite being a tortoishell, I have none of that silly "tortitude" that some tortoiseshell cats have that make them a little quirky and sometimes a little cranky.

I am a sweet girl and I love to be petted and will cuddle close for more. I miss my mom and am looking for the love I used to get from her.

I am spayed, FeLv/FIV negative and up to date on shots.

Sweet Pea is one of Sue Edwards' cats and she needs a new home. Special adoption fee for Sweet Pea!

Hi, my name is Cleopatra (Cleo for short) and I'm looking for my forever home. I'm a talkative, inquisitive young cat with plenty of energy for playing and exploring! I come say hi whenever someone comes home for a headbutt and some skritches. My favorite is when toys are just out of sight so I can pounce on them, or when someone throws pingpong balls for me to chase until my ears turn pink and I have to lie down!

My foster mom thinks it's funny that I make so many noises, especially when I get a little bit frustrated playing or give out a battle cry when I'm chasing a thrown toy. I like being near people, normally just close enough that they need to stretch to pet me. I'll come cuddle on laps, but only on special occasions so that people keep appreciating me!

I might look a bit funny because I got fat at my last home. I lost the weight, but now I've got piles of skin swinging around when I run. My foster mom seems to think that's funny too! I know there's someone out there who will look past it to appreciate my cute little face and entertaining personality and take me home for good!
See linked album for more pics, including a gif of Cleo saying hi!

If you are looking for a precious gem to add to your home, then you have found the right gal.

I'm Jasper and my favorite things are snuggling in bed with my foster parents (day and night), playing with my siblings, sitting in the window and watching the birds, and lazing around in bed. If my brothers are getting attention, I will push them out of the way so I can get more pets. I prefer not to be held but would love to hang out with you in bed or on the couch (being petted of course).

I am shy and prefer a mellow household. My mom was a feral cat living in Pittsboro by the BoJangles and that is where the folks at CARE found me. Me and my brothers have lived with our foster family which includes dogs, other cats, and even a turtle.

As I'm working on building my confidence a home with experienced cat people and no children under 10 would be my perfect furever home. I would love to be adopted with one of my brothers and start the new year in our furever home.

If you are looking for a noble gemstone then you've come to the right furbaby. My name is Onyx and I was named for the gemstone because of my satiny black coat.

Hanging out on the back of the couch in the evenings watching TV is one of my favorite past times next to getting attention. When I get really relaxed, my little pink tongue sticks out, quite a contrast to my black coat. Sitting in the window or playing with the other cats in the house is how I spend most of my time.

I am outgoing but prefer a mellow household. My mom was a feral cat living in Pittsboro by the BoJangles and that is where the folks at CARE found me. Me and my brother and sister have lived with our foster family which includes dogs, other cats, and even a turtle.

At times I can be a bit nervous so a home with experienced cat people and no children under 10 would be my perfect furever home. I would love to be adopted with one of my siblings and start the new year in our new home.

My name is Jet and I'm a diamond in the rough. I'm the shyest of my siblings and like Jasper, I am a great bed buddy and love attention in the mornings and at night. I love to play with the other cats in the house and Maggie, the big dog, is my favorite to rub up against. My newest trick is to rub my face on my foster mom and sister and I've even kissed them.

I am shy and prefer a mellow household. My mom was a feral cat living in Pittsboro by the BoJangles and that is where the folks at CARE found me. While living at BoJangles, I broke my leg so I have a little limp and sit with my leg straight out. The Vet lady said my leg didn't heal right but that doesn't stop me from running, jumping, or climbing my cat tree. Me and my brother and sister have lived with our foster family which includes dogs, other cats, and even a turtle.

As I am still working on my confidence around new people a home with experienced cat people and no children under 10 would be my perfect furever home. I would love to be adopted with one of my siblings and start the new year in our new home.

I've grown up to be a really big boy who is super cute! I may be very quirky but I'm like a big teddy bear. We've got kittens in the house right now and I have the best time with them. They just play and bounce right off me. I still live with my mom Olivia but she's making sure I become independent. We live with other cats and dogs and I get along with everyone. I don't like being held much but I sure do love to roll on the bed, desk top or floor and be loved on. I also love any kind of toy and am told I'm pretty athletic, even for my size! Did I mention I'm super cute? Consider adding me to your family today.

I'm well over 14 lbs now but still a baby. Click on my picture to see more of me.

I am a very sweet girl, a bit shy but smart and loving. I hear my purr is mesmerizing. I love the other kitties in my foster home, and really like the family dogs.
I'll need to be adopted by an experienced cat person in a home with grown children. I'm really no trouble though. I'm just a very sweet girl that loves to sit in window seats and watch outdoor TV. I enjoy my life but really want a family of my own!
I was x-rayed as a kitten only because of my littermate's physical issues and learned I have very mild hip dysplasia. It isn't noticeable and hasn't bothered me at all. I lead a very normal life except one thing I don't do is jump on the countertops. I hear that's a good thing!
I'll make a great addition to your family. Please submit an application today.

Smart, very loving girl.

Sweet Lila is a beautiful russian blue mix! She has plushy grey fur that's a delight to pet, and a cute grey nose. She's shy and reserved when meeting strangers, but her true personality is a little goof ball that has a range of chirps, thrills, and tiny but insistent mews...that's all directed towards food. Though she may have a giant love for canned food, she also loves belly and nose rubs, and chin scratches. She would be a wonderful companion for anyone willing to give her time to open up. She loves her sister Lillie, friendly dogs, and confident cats.

Lillie is a typical tortie with the Tortitude that comes with it! Funny and outgoing (she may hide from strangers for the first 10 minutes, but she won't be able to resist coming out), her favorite thing is to run in front of you and flop over on her back and roll around. Her stomach may look irresistibly soft and squishy but please do not touch! This girl likes back and chin scratches and has silky soft fur. She loves her sister Lila, friendly dogs and confident cats. And would of course love you (though she may need some time before deciding someone is worthy of her fabulous self).

"Howdy! I'm pretending I'm a Western kitty because I've heard that's where the tree I'm named after grows. Actually, living in NC didn't prepare me for being a cowgirl kitty, so I've tried to pay special attention when my foster Dad watches TV. I've seen pictures of cows, mostly when they are mooing "Eat more Chickin" but that's about the extent of my studies. I will tackle just about anything that moves, so keep that in mind if you're still wearing flip flops and value your toes. I'm sure if you'd keep your socks on this winter, I'll probably be over it by the time Spring rolls around. Anyway, I really love watching squirrels and birds outside when I'm not busy playing or napping w/my littermates. I really like them a lot, so it'd be great if you can take two of us (it's only Cherry and me left). Or let my rescue person know who you might have at home that can keep me entertained."

"Meow there! Like most kittens, I have a story to meow. From my name, one might think I'm red (I'm not, I'm a very unusual mix colors, apricot, brown, beige, maybe some black here and there for punctuation) and have a hard spot in my center (my center is a very tender, sensitive place that will permit human touch if I'm half-asleep or you smell like my momma). I'm named after a TREE, for meowing out loud, because the woman that rescued us wanted tree NAMES for my sisters, brother and me. So here we are. I'm the most independent thinking and acting of the litter; not one to be wooed by sweet talk or fancy toys if I don't see the personal benefit. My momma was also very independent, and she taught me it's best to not let anyone see my soft-side too often. That meowed, I'm very beautiful and love-love to play. So, before I get too excited about the idea of going home with anyone, my agent needs to make sure there will be someone with whom to play, snuggle and bat around when the mood strikes me! If you appreciate cats for their independent nature, then you totally get what I'm meowing here."

Cherry is uniquely beautiful, exceptionally smart and playful and so ready for her own forever home. For the health and happiness of all the kittens, I strongly recommend you consider adopting either a littermate (Aspen) or other kitten close in age (with whom she has a comfortable relationship already in her foster home). Reduced adoption fee for more than one. This could be the fun family you've been looking for, call 919-935-3792 for more information.

This little gray tabby girl is Stella. She, like foster brother Jake, wants to be an indoor kittie where she can be a snuggle bug. She is happy being with other kitties and would love to share a home with Jake. She was found in a busy warehouse in Siler City with her brother. She was vocal in asking for food and attention. I took them home so they wouldn't get hurt or worse. She was under a pound and loaded with fleas. She's now a beautiful, healthy baby, up to date on all her shots and just as sweet as can be. She plays well with other kitties and people. She will be spayed on 11/13.

Meet Jake. He's looking to be an indoor kitty with people who will love and play with him. His beginning was rough, outside the Food Lion in Siler City early August. He called to me and when I responded he came out from under the shopping carts, covered in ticks and fleas, and weighing a little over 1 lb. Now he's a very handsome, healthy young boy who is great with people and the other 3 kitties in his foster home. He would love to go his forever home with Stella (his foster sister who is also on this site). Jake is up to date on all his shots and he will be neutered on 11/13.

"I am waiting as patiently as my anxious little body will let me for my forever home to appear from nowhere on the horizon and feel the magnetic pull of my lonely heart. How is that for a first draft of my latest poem? Needs some work, you say. I thought so. My teacher said to meow from my heart and that's what came out. I'm having some self-esteem issues, you see, because my trust in humans was shattered when they tried to put me out of my misery. Except you see, I wasn't miserable. I wanted to live but they gave me no choice. Then a kind-hearted woman came along and saved me and my little family. I'm in a good place now and my foster mommy tells me I'm beautiful. She wants me to have more love and attention than she can give me. I'm hoping YOU, out there, will JUMP on this fantastic opportunity to own your very own mini-black panther!! Foster Mom says I'm easy to have around because I don't make messes nor any demands. I'm happy to eat and nap and watch birds and squirrels out the windows. And nap some more. If you have space in your heart to give me a chance, I promise to be a great kitty for you, too."

Rachel is beautiful and low maintenance. She tolerates other cats but would be most happy as an only kitty. She has experience with dogs and is happy to let them live their lives in peace as they don't get in her face. She might warm up to dogs, over time, but she'd need to see the benefit! Rachel will make someone a lovely companion. Please call 919-935-3792 for more information, her adoption fee is $90.

Hello, my name is Pacino! I got that name because I appear to have had a rough life before as I'm a tough little guy with a few scars to show for it. Winter is here and I have no indoor home! I have been living at an office complex where my caretakers have made sure I have food, water, shelter, got me neutered, vaccinated and tested (I am FIV/FeLV negative). Now all I need is a permanent home to go to!

I love lounging in the bushes around the parking lot, enjoy having my head scratched, and getting special treats like sardines! I have safe places to hang out but would love a home to call my own! I am equally happy to greet men or women; I am not yet a lap cat but with the right family to help me I can become a loving companion! All 9 pounds of me get so excited when I see my friends. I flop onto my back and roll back and forth, eagerly seeking rubs and pets. I am not too sure about dogs close-up yet, but there are dogs often walking nearby so I have been around them from a distance.

If you have a special place in your heart for a sweet black kitty with street smarts, I'm your guy!

Yay for me! I believe I've found the best family ever! Adoption pending.

"My brother, Rudy, said it all. Except I'm more beautiful than him. Because I'm female and he needs to be handsome. But we are a very pretty, adorable set. I'm very lady like and self-cleaning and love to cuddle. If I need to climb your chair or legs or whatever to get to your hands that want to caress and tickle me, no worries. My favorite place is on a lap or in a human's arms. If you're looking for a super-affectionate kitty-girl, that's me. Cooler is here, so why not get your lap warmers now and avoid the rush! Please call the number below and I'll be happy to arrange for an interview as soon as your application is approved!"

"I didn't know I was running for office, but I just learned I've been elected to be my foster's home advocate for black cats! Ya'll may know that black cats (and dogs, go figure) are often the last ones to find the loving, caring homes we so deserve. Let me begin by 'splaining away some of the "FAKE NEWS" about black cats: 1) Superstitions are just that. Like vampires and witchcraft. Maybe it's time to expand your horizons; the Celts and many Asian nations view black cats as a sign of good luck. 2) Majestic and elegant, with our bright, piercing eyes against silky black fur. What is not to love? 3) Black never goes out of fashion! And when you're wearing that little black dress, or T, or jeans, our fur won't show. 4) Black cats are THE most easy-going cats ever. We get along with other cats better than anyone. If you've ever tried to get a calico and a tortoiseshell to get along, you'll appreciate what I'm saying. That's all I have for now, on behalf of myself and black cats everywhere, I hope I'm off to a good start! Besides all of that, I'm just an energetic, playful, cuddle baby that will climb your jeans just to see if your legs have any feeling! Let your love affair with black cats begin with me. Thanks for your time!"

Rudy is very well-mannered and an entertaining delight to have around. He dependably uses a litter box and will play by himself if you're too busy. He has an equally beautiful sister, Rosie, that we'd love to see stay with him. Reduced adoption fee for both. Rudy's adoption fee is $100. Call 919-935-3792 for more information.
