We lost our 17 year old fur baby in May of 2023 and buried her in the yard with a cement block on top with her name and age on it. A few months later, we were riding around and stopped at the river for some fishing. That’s when we noticed feral cats in the area. We brought them food off and on for about a year before we met Newby, who was very friendly with us. We started going weekly to see him in June of 2024 but he disappeared by the end of July. In February, we rode back to the river to feed one of the ferals and met Joan Cunningham doing the same thing. We were telling her about the sweet cat we met there and discovered Newby was in her care after being shot and losing a leg! I got information about CARE from her and we went to meet him the following weekend!
My husband has been firm about not getting another cat unless the cat sat on our deceased cat’s grave. Well, yesterday…the decision was firmly made. My sweet little boy!
